Gina a.k.a "Biggie" will be missed

I have always been a fan of palindromes and I don't think it is a coincidence that "God" is the palindrome for "dog."  That being said, people must think the Helwich family is crazy because we pump out more dogs, or Gods, than grand kids.  Granted I love kids, but there is something about dogs that humans crave.  I think it's all about their simplicity and ability to show emotion without words.  You can have the worst day of your life, but when you walk in the front door and see a tail wagging and a tongue out, you forget about your worries.  No complex questions or problem solving, just "I am happy to see you."
When Gina aka "Biggie" came into the Helwich family it was a bit like walking into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Essentially my mom makes the house a shangri la for dogs and the two little pups Reagyn and Sophie make perfect oompa loompas.  Gina was a little mystified by the environment and she would sleep by herself on the side of the house (rain or shine), but she slowly began to integrate into the household.  She integrated so much that she was often caught sleeping in the little dog's bed.
Yes Gina had bad breath, horrendous farts and an incredibly stubborn attitude, but you couldn't help but love her loyalty.  She absolutely loved being in my room when I was doing homework and she would often bust the door down just to sit next to me.  I rolled and tripped over her countless times, but it was nice to have someone by your side even when you aren't paying attention to them.  My dad would often let her sit in the driveway while he did yard-work and she would bask in the sun.  I am sure my dad tripped over her many times too, but he can attest that it was nice to have her there even if he didn't acknowledge it at the time.
Gina was there and that is what I loved about her.  She may have been the annoying stepchild in  the beginning, but the more she was around the more I got attached to her.  I witnessed the love Jeff had for that dog (you wouldn't believe the breakfast he made for her everyday) and it saddens me that she is no longer around.  No more butt waddling, no more tripping, no more Jen yelling at her :), no more noxious farts, no more excitement at the door, no more companion by your side, but if you look at it closely she made you appreciate the little things.  If that is what dogs or Gods are here to do, Gina you did a splendid job.
